Willemswerf is an office building with a remarkable architecture, designed by the Amsterdam-based architect Wim Quist. The construction of this building started in September 1987 and was completed in December 1988. The building has an entry hall, 5 parking levels, 17 office floors and a technical layer, with a total surface of 57.500 m2.
In 2012 the planning for a large scale renovation of the building started. This consisted of several aspects, including research into the technical installation and the application of sustainable energy, the climate concepts on the office floors, renovation of the technological infrastructure and a phasing plan.
Because of the amended use of the building, moving from a single tenant (Nedlloyd) to becoming a multi-tenant facility in 2014, the entry hall has also been remoulded. In the new situation the entry level now consist of a restaurant, brasserie and coffee bar, also the main reception and security are re-housed.
Meanwhile there are also several office floors renovated, in which climate ceilings are applied. In the 4th quarter of 2015 the renovation of the cooling compressor and from 2017 the ventilation installation will be renovated. In the time period the technical control installation will also be replaced.
